HTC One M8 is one of the most popular smartphone’s in the market and has helped HTC to regain its falling sales. Amazon’s Fire Phone is a new entrant with innovative features. While Amazon is building a gateway to its massive online store, HTC is desperately trying to regain its lost market share with its ‘One’ range of smartphones.
Earlier, we have compared the Fire Phone with Samsung Galaxy S5, now lets have a look at comparison between the Amazon Fire phone and HTC One M8.
Amazon Fire Phone features a powerful Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2 GHz processor while the HTC One M8 is one step ahead with a Snapdragon 801 2.3 GHz processor. Both the phones are powered by 2GB of RAM. The Fire Phone sports a higher internal storage of 32GB and 64GB and lacks a MicroSD slot while the HTC One M8 ships in 16GB and 32GB variants with a Micro SD slot.
The Fire Phone sports a 13MP primary and 2.1MP secondary camera while the HTC One M8 has a 4MP (Ultrapixels) primary and 5MP secondary camera. However HTC One M8 is capable of delivering colorful pictures in low-lighting with the help of its “Ultra-Pixel” shooter. The HTC One M8 front camera includes a sensor for greater depth for capturing selfies.
There is a slight difference in the display size of both the phone as the Fire Phone sports 4.7-inch display and the HTC One M8 with 5-inch display. The 1280×720 resolution with 351ppi density of the Fire Phone is significantly lower than the grand 1920×1080 resolution of the HTC One M8 with 441ppi pixel density which provides amazing colors and clarity. HTC One M8 is a winner here.
Design & Build:
The build of the Fire Phone is similar to iPhone 4S which is made of glass while the HTC One M8 features a solid Aluminum build. The fire Phone is smaller than the HTC One M8 as it is 5 percent longer, 8 percent wider and 6 percent thicker than the latter. The Fire Phone is currently available in only Black color while the HTC One M8 comes in red, silver, gold and grey colors.
The Fire Phone’s unique “Dynamic Perspective” feature is capable of delivering 3D effects without glasses while the HTC One M8 obviously lacks the feature. The Fire Phone has a 2,400mAh battery while the HTC One M8 has a 2,600mAh battery along with an Extreme power saving mode for extending battery life.
In terms of software, the Fire phone features a customized version of Android and includes only the Amazon app store for downloading apps while the HTC One M8 will include the Play Store for a wide variety of apps. The Fire Phone will be delivered by July 2014 while the One M8 is available since March and both are priced at $650. Amazon Fire Phone is offered on contract for $200. Amazon is providing a one-year membership of prime for a limited time on the purchase of its smartphone.
