After months of anticipation, we are finally able to take a first look at Samsung’s ATIV Book 9 Pro and ATIV Book 9 Spin. Both models are incredibly attractive, but they have been designed for two distinct goals: the Pro version for professional use and the Spin design for increased mobility and versatility.
Samsung’s reputation as a large producer of high-quality technological devices has been proven many times before. Judging by its large array of smartphones and television sets, the South Korean developer’s assets remain advanced screens and monitors. The recently announced laptops come to confirm this belief, as well as the fact that Samsung is doing its best to keep prices at a low.
The ATIV Book Pro laptop is in keeping with the light and slim design of most laptops nowadays. Weighing less than 2.7lbs, the Pro version of the Samsung’s ATIV collection of laptops is a great notebook due to its increased battery life and storage capacity. The developer has stated that the two models can last 7 hours longer than regular laptops due to their advanced batteries. And great part of the size has been reduced, as well.
ATIV Book Pro has been introduced to the public as the high end version of their new line. This explains why this model has been set at a starting price of $1,599, whereas the Spin version will be sold in exchange for $1,399. The Pro prototype is also larger, having a 15.6-inch 4K screen, so we owe it to Samsung, once again for making 4K videos available to as many consumers as possible.
Samsung has long boasted the capabilities of its new ATIV Book 9 Pro laptop. They are particularly proud of their touch screens with a 3840 x 2160 resolution and a 700nit brightness. The South Korean reassures customers that this is one of the best screen they have ever used on one of their products. The Spin model is not at all inferior to the Pro version. The 13.3-inch touch display enchants the users’ eyes with a QHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1800.
As previously stated, the high-end ATIV model has been endowed with many other specs that make it more professional. In addition to the usual HDMI, microphone, USB and headphone ports, Samsung has also endowed its newest laptop with USB Type C Connectors for high-tech users, who like to have all their devices at hand. Having foreseen consumers’ need to stay connected to the Internet all the time, the South Korean company has also included the Wi-Fi Booster v2 to keep the wireless connection stable even when the signal is not strong.
The ATIV Book 9 Spin version, on the other hand, puts the emphasis on mobility and innovation. The name of the laptop is a good indicative of what the laptop can do: it can rotate 360 degrees and it can be used in three different ways: as a regular laptop, a tablet and a tented screen. The touchscreen features and the keyboard adjust to every mode for increased comfort.
Aside from the aforementioned differences, there are many features that may be found on the Pro model, as well as on the Spin one. Samsung did not want to strip any of the two prototypes of power, which is why the ATIV line comes with the 6th Generation Core i7 processors. 2.50 GHz and 2.60 GHz make the Spin and the Pro model, respectively, very fast even with the solid volume of 256 GB storage.
Interested customers will have to wait by the end of November because the laptops will not be available on the market until then. Once launched, the ATIV Book 9 Pro and the ATIV Book 9 Spin will be available for order on Samsung’s online stores and Best Buy.
