Apple’s iPhone 7 is likely to release in September 2016 and has been rumored to include wireless charging, a new camera and several other features. Several reports indicate that the device will have a similar release date like the previous iPhones.
The iPhone 7 is rumored to be powered by the next-generation A9 processor with 2GB of RAM. The same processor is used in the earlier iPhone but the company will use a 14-nano meter design. The Economic Daily News reported that the device could feature a 3D display and would not require glasses, similar to Amazon Fire phone. TPK, the supply chain partner of Apple is reportedly working on the “naked eye 3D screen” project.
Apple decided to give Sapphire Glass Technology a skip in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus though it is expected to include it in iPhone 7. One major upgrade will be the camera which will provide DSLR-quality images and HDR for 4K video by utilizing a 21MP dual lens in the device. John Gruber from Daring Fireball stated in his blog that the device could help allow users to capture “DSLR-quality imagery”.
Some reports reveal that Apple might add joystick support along with the home button for attachment to a mini joystick. A new touch-sensitive technology called Force Technology might be added for teaching the device the difference between a press and tap for quick access to apps or services. Other rumors include a new reversible charger for wireless charging, Face recognition and iOS 9.
The rumored iPhone 7 might also be called as iPhone Air, similar to MacBook Air and iPad Air. Apple might release iPhone 6c and iPhone 6s along with Apple Watch before the release of the smartphone. The release date of the smartphone is predicted based on the release date patterns of iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5c, 5s and iPhone 5 which were released in September.
According to anonymous sources in Apple’s supply chain, the company will do away with 4-inch phones in the future. The iPhone 7 is speculated to be priced at $649 or higher, in view of the advanced features that might be included in the device.
