Here is the Golden Joystick Awards 2014 winners list

The winners of the 32nd annual Golden Joystick Awards were announced on Friday that included 16 publicly voted awards. Popular games like Dark Souls 2 received the prestigious game of the year award and Hideo Kojima, developer of Metal Gear received the Lifetime Achievement Award.10303986_808972335792468_6581717941590825195_n-790x542

The event had a new prize category – the Most Played Award presented to Rust that was calculated based on most played games on Playfire, last year. The Original Game Award and Best Indie Game was presented to DayZ, the Best Online Game and Mobile game to Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Best Storytelling to ‘The Last of Us: Left behind’, Best Visual Design and Best Audio award to ‘Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

The Best Multiplayer award was given to Battlefield 4, Innovation of the year to Oculus Rift DK2, Best Handheld Game to Pokemon X and Y and Best Gaming moment award for The Last of Us: Left Behind – “The Kiss”. PewDiePie was chosen as the Gaming Personality of the year, the Gaming Platform of the year to Steam and Gaming Studio award to  Ubisoft.

Matthew Reynolds, editor of Digital Spy presented the Original Game award to DayZ. This year, Steam bagged the award for the second time in a row. Kojima and PewDiePie was absent for the event though the latter sent a recorded message after the award. The event also revealed exclusive new trailers and the opening of The Witcher 3 and Project Cars. Ed Bryne announced the awards during the event and took a dig at PS4 on why it did not bag the Best Gaming Platform Award during the closing of the event.

  2. BF4 best multiplayer? Are you serious? As someone who dumped way to much time into that buggy game – what a crock of crap.

By far BF4 is the best MP of the year, mind you there has been a lot of bugs associated to the classic maps however, a majority of these issues have been fixed with the latest patch released this fall. BF4 is just a solid game with so much depth and by far destroys COD. I do agree that the lock ups pissed me off as with DICE never fixing the issues. I do think Dice owes a refund to the premium members bc of the failure of fixing the bugs with the game. Still BF4 is an awesome MP game, the best of the year even with the bugs. Still I think Dice owes the fans for dealing with the issues for so long.
