EA Sports has chosen the 27-year old Argentinian football player Lionel Messi as the global cover star for the latest FIFA 15 that is slated for a release in September. The title states Cristiano Ronaldo, because there were many rumors surfaced about him being used as the cover star for the next FIFA game.
Earlier Messi has been featured on the global cover of FIFA Street (2012), FIFA 13 (2012), FIFA 14 (2013) and this will be the fourth consecutive appearance of the Argentinean football player. EA Sports will reveal the other regional stars who will appear on FIFA 15 cover in the coming weeks. Messi who captained Argentina in the World Cup had received the “Golden Ball” award for the best player of the tournament and won four ‘Man of the Match’ awards.
EA Sports has offered new visuals in the FIFA 15 like visible breathing, hair movements, more character models and players jerseys will become dirty during the course of the game. Boot marks of players will also appear and wet weather will cause spray effects. Other effects include vibrating goalposts, fluttering nets and responsive corner flags. FIFA 15 uses the Ignite Engine that was used in EA Sports UFC.
Users who pre-order the game will receive the Ultimate Edition, which includes FIFA Ultimate team digital bonuses. The game will release on September 23 in North America, September 25 in Europe and September 26 in the UK. The game will be released on PC, Wii, 3DS, PS Vita, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Microsoft’s Xbox One users will be able to access exclusive content as FIFA 15 Urban Team Legends will be released for the console.
