This could be real or could be just a hype created by Samsung, as one of the popular online retailer in UK has announced that it sold Samsung Galaxy S5 on launch day and the quantity is double than that of the Galaxy S4’s launch day sales.
Many smartphone analysts and experts predicted a less demand for Samsung’s latest flagship, compared to its last model. But the report from UK’s key retailer Phones4u tells a completely different story. The retailer also announced that the demand for the smartphone is increasing since its launch.
Meanwhile, neither Samsung nor Phones4u revealed the exact sales numbers. But the statement released by the retailer seems pretty impressive for the new model.
If you are so keen on exact sales numbers of Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphones, you should have to wait for the Korean tech giant’s Second Quarter financial report. The company could release the Q1 report soon, but it won’t include the latest Android handset as the company started selling Galaxy S5 handsets in April month. However, if the sales figures reaches the milestone numbers such as 1 million to 10 million, Samsung could announce the achievement in coming days.
Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy S5 at last February’s MWC event at Barcelona, while the pre-orders started from March 28 onwards in various retailers across UK.
Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display screen with 1080p resolution, 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16MP primary camera, 2MP front camera, 16GB/32GB internal storage options, expandable micro SD card slot, 2,800mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR remote, Cat 4 LTE with up to 150Mbps downlink, swappable rear cover and water/dust resistance body.
Heart rate sensor and fingerprint scanner is the key feature of the handset, while the device comes with new flatter toned-down TouchWiz UI on top of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
