Google published an etiquette guide to Glass Explorers

google-glass-frameConcerned over the social acceptance, Google has published an etiquette guide for Google Glass explorers that optionally requests users to follow some do’s and don’ts.

Google want to change the way the society welcomes the Glass wearable computing device, it want to be welcomed by open arms. The company has faced many disputes related to the Google Glass and its users’ behaviors, such as wearing while driving and the restaurant drama.

Many points posted in the published etiquette guide reflects common sense and told users to pay attention to the world around them, not to read long stories from the device by looking continuously on the prism, not to wear in risky situations such as while doing high-impact sports.

Most importantly, Google said to avoid being a “Glasshole,” which reads,

Respect others and if they have questions about Glass don’t get snappy. Be polite and explain what Glass does and remember, a quick demo can go a long way. In places where cell phone cameras aren’t allowed, the same rules will apply to Glass. If you’re asked to turn your phone off, turn Glass off as well. Breaking the rules or being rude will not get businesses excited about Glass and will ruin it for other Explorers.

If you want to check all the Glass explorers’ etiquette guide, then head over to this link. Though these advice are optional, but we recommend all users to follow them seriously. Ultimately, Google will get the real profit once the device comes to the public market.
