Google begins selling ASUS Chromebox for Meetings for $999 in US, starting today

Its Chromebox day, as we already saw ASUS and HP’s announcement to launch their own Google Chrome OS running computers, while Google also unveiled $999 worth ASUS Chromebox for Meetings with 1 year free management and support.


With the fastest Intel Core i7 processor, ASUS Chromebox for Meeting is available today in US for $999 along with the HD camera, microphone+speaker and a remote control, while CDW and SYNEX will be bringing the device to the consumers.

The Chromebox for Meetings could be the same Chromebox from ASUS, but with high-end configuration. Users can begin meetings instantly by pressing a button in remote control and they can even share the laptop screen, wirelessly. Users can also invite others and add rooms to video meetings directly from Google Calendar.

According to the Google’s blog post, up to 15 participants can join at a time from other conference rooms, smartphones, tablets and laptops. Users could hold the cross-platform meeting via their Gmail account.

HP already announced that their Chromebox for Meetings, which will be arriving this Spring in United States, while Google said that the Chromebox for meetings will launch in other part of the world such as Japan, Canada, France, Australia, UK, Spain and New Zealand soon.
