HTC”s first generation Butterfly smartphone is getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware update over-the-air inside a 500.58MB update package with many new features.
With the ROM version 3.15.707.4, the new update to HTC Butterfly comes with the Android 4.3 JB features along with HTC Sense 5.5 user interface, improved Blinkfeed, Video Highlights customization, better music channel, HTC Zoe camera mode, GIF creator, burst shots and various bug fixes and enhanced device performance.
The news was sourced from a HTC ROM developer, @LlabTooFeR, who also posted the screenshots of the update notification arrived on the device. He also tweeted that the similar Verizon Wireless’ Droid DNA handset will not get the Jelly Bean update, instead it will get the latest Android 4.4 KitKat sometime in March 2014. There are no official confirmation regarding the HTC Droid DNA KitKat update though.
Currently the HTC Butterfly handsets in Malaysia is reportedly receiving the JB update notifications, but the roll out seems to be global, so better keeping your smartphone update notification alive for an OTA alert.
