The new design seems to be the attempt to reach to more wearable device manufacturers to protect it with 3D Corning Gorilla Glasses without loosing anything at the design end.

If everything goes as expected, the new smartphones and wearable computing devices will be sporting the 3D glass by Corning. Meanwhile, the company hasn’t revealed any partners to use this technology on their devices.

We expect it to feature with Google Glass-type of wearable devices and smartwatches too. Stay tuned on The Next Digit for more update on this news.
