Moto G users will receive the latest Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update from Motorola, currently available to specific versions of the smartphone.
Motorola Moto G devices which were purchased from Amazon in the US or from Motorola website will receive the Android 4.4.2 update first. Users who use carrier versions of the smartphone and from other regions will have to wait for while.
‘Our Kitkat family is expanding! When we launched Moto G last month, we committed to delivering Android, Kitkat, to devices by early 2014. We are thrilled to start delivering on that promise early. Starting today we are rolling out Android 4.4.2 to Moto G phone bought on Motorola.com or Amazon.com in the US. Kitkat will come into other Moto G carriers and regions soon as well,’ said Motorola.
Moto G users around the world will not have to wait for long as they will be notified of the update gradually in the coming days. In case you own a Motorola device which was not purchased from Amazon.com or Motorola.com check for an an update notification under settings> About phone > Software Update.
Users were already aware that Motorola has planned to release the update in early 2014, but the company’s move was aimed at making consumers happy. Motorola has been gaining popularity with its Moto series range with Moto G and Moto X providing value for the money. With overall customer support and moves aimed at making the consumer satisfied the company will find a strong base in the smartphone market.
