Asus PadFone mini is certainly a smaller version of 5-inch smartphone with 10-inch tablet dock – Asus PadFone Infinity. With Black, White and Cherry color options, the new PadFone mini will also be launched in Russia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia soon, but the initially available color in Taiwan is only Black.
Asus PadFone mini is available in Taiwan for NTD 11,900, which comes approximately $405 and €295, however, the Taiwan Mobile will sell it for NTD 9,900 or even less with 2-year contract and monthly tariff.
Regarding the specifications, its 4.3-inch smartphone has a Super IPS display with 256ppi qHD resolution, 16GB internal storage with upto 64GB expandable microSD slot, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.4GHz processor with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The device will come with Android 4.3 installed out of the box. The lighter device has only 129.3 x 65.6 x 8.7mm dimensions, weighing only 105g with not-so-impressive 1,500mAh battery.
Regarding the camera, the smartphone has an 8MP rear camera with f//2.0 aperture and a 2MP front camera, while the 7-inch tablet dock also comes with a 1MP front camera along with Super IPS display with 1,280 x 800 resolution with pixel density of 216ppi. Surprisingly, to add more lifetime to the device, the tablet dock also comes with a separate 2,200mAh battery and the weight of 310g makes the total weight of the device to 415g, when docked.
No LTE support available within the device, but it comes with dual-SIM support, WiFi (b/g/n), GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS and Bluetooth 4.0.
