During a conference at this year’s E3, Bethesda officially unveiled the sequel to their 2014 hit game “Wolfenstein: The New Order” through a trailer. The new game is called “Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus” and it’s developed by MachineGames. Also, it will run on Software’s id Tech 6 game engine. The game will be set in 1961’s Nazi-controlled America. Fans of the series are going to have a big surprise. The main protagonist will once again be BJ Blazkowicz. He is a member of the Resistance which is fighting against the Nazis to take back the country.
“Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus”
Bethesda said about the game that it continues the storyline from the first. Even if Nazi General Deathshead is now dead, the Nazis are still a force to be reckoned with in the entire world. The player will return as BJ Blazkowicz and will try to destroy every Nazi left and start the second American Revolution. As the story progresses, players will visit a post-nuclear Manhattan, New Orleans, and Roswell. As for the main character, he will once again be fully armed. Apart from the classics like machine guns and pistols, he will also have some high-tech weaponry available. Two of those weapons will be the deadly Laserkraftwerk and the Dieselkraftwerk. Moreover, now, players will be able to dual-wield guns, making BJ Blazkowicz even stronger than ever before.
However, a Wolfenstein game is not complete without extremely creepy and paranormal ingredients. So, the player will have to fight cyborgs, monster-machines like the Liesel and the already famous über soldiers. Moreover, Anya Oliwa, the main character’s partner is now pregnant with twins. So, he will have to also protect her while running from those monsters. And if this weren’t enough, Frau Irene Engel has been following Blazkowicz since the end of the first game.
The well-known Wolfenstein recipe
The reveal trailer shows a bit of the atmosphere of the game which channels once again the classic Wolfenstein recipe. We see Blazkowicz using some extremely powerful weapons while fighting Nazis. The trailer also offers a little glimpse at the gameplay which resembles that from the first game. “Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus” will come out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 27, this year.
