It seems like Sledgehammer Games and Activision have finally confirmed their upcoming videogame “Call of Duty: WWII”, after some leaks and many rumors surrounding it. Some of those rumors have been confirmed, some have not. The game is the follow-up of “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” and players will be able to enjoy a single-player campaign, multiplayer and co-op. Everything will take place during World War II. The game will come out on November 3 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
What we know so far
The first trailer for the game debuted with a teaser announcement from Activision, during a livestream which was available all over the world. It is worth noting that actor Josh Duhamel plays one of the main characters of the game, Technical Sergeant William Pierson, and he appears in the trailer. The short video also shows some scenes from Normandy as well as Hurtgen Forest. Fans of the Call of Duty series will be able to preorder the game before its official November 3 release. However, the rest of the details are still a mystery.
As for the single-player campaign and its story, it focuses on the US 1st Infantry Division. The players will be able to experience a real war and be part of the battle of Normandy. Also, the Battle of the Bulge and many other historical events. For most of the game, the player will embody the young Private Red Daniels. However, and this is a change from the previous games, the player will be able to experience the French resistance from the eyes of a woman.
As for the multiplayer of the game, the developers have not offered too many details. However, one thing we know is that now we have Headquarters. This is a place for the players to talk to each other and to receive awards. Also, the game will now have a War Mode. This will put the player in the middle of the iconic World War II battles.
The co-op mode of “Call of Duty: WWII” will most probably have to do with zombies, if we are to believe the teaser. It will reportedly be a horror mode, and it will focus on the efforts of the Third Reich to create a zombie army to win the war.
