Dell’s pint sized Alienware X51 gaming desktop is now available with AMD Radeon R9 270X graphics card with multi-monitor support, however, the GPU might not support the 4K gaming.
Few months ago, Dell has refreshed the Alienware X51 gaming machines with Haswell processors of up to quad-core Core i7-4770 CPU and an optional 2GB NVIDIA GTX 670 graphics card, now replaced those GPU to an AMD Radeon R9 270X GPU with 2GB DDR5 memory. AMD’s Eyefinity tech has been used in the card, which brings the multi-monitor support for ultra high definition games and simultaneously with other extended desktop works. If the chipmaker planned to add the R9 290X card on this gaming-machine, then it woul have supported the 4K gaming and videos on ultraHD televisions.
However, it’s pretty unsure about the 4K gaming, but Dell said in the blog post,
Ultra-High Resolution and Eyefinity Support– The AMD Radeon R9 270X provides the ability for higher resolution with the ability to connect to a 4K monitor or multiple HD monitors.
PSA: While we mentioned the R9 290X, we let you know that Sapphire released the new BIOS update for R9 290 graphics card, which would aim at improving the performance of the card.
