Here comes one more ugly, luxurious and quite powerful dual-screen flip smartphone by Samsung – SCH-W2014. The company along with China Telecom launched the device at the annual “Heart Of The World” charity concert in Nanjing, China last night.
Last year, Samsung unveiled the similarly designed SCH-W2013 phone (1.4GHz quad-core) with action star Jacky Chan (link) and this August, it also announced a similar Samsung Galaxy Golden (1.7GHz dual-core) flip smartphone (link). So comes another SCH-W2014 with some more power and features without much changes in the design part.
launched in China, Dual SIM capable Samsung SCH-W2014 is the fastest dual-screen fip phone by the company yet, with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz quad-core processor along with 2GB RAM. It comes with a 13MP rear camera with 2MP front camera. It has a 32GB inbuilt storage with expandable microSD card slot. It supports WiFi (802.11 a /b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth 4.0 as part of the connectivity. Dual SIM connectivity includes CDMA 2000 800/1900 and GSM 900/1800/1900 band support could land the phone on China Telecom as well as China Unicom.
However, there are few downsides compared to the previous similar models and it’s the 1,900mAh battery and screen resolution – 800 x 480 on its 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display. Despite having the smaller battery, it’s removable, Hence the weight of the smartphone also cut down to 173.5 grams. Chinese news site iFeng has appreciated the overall design and keyboard feedback in short review, but criticized the plastic look and feel of the hinge.
