Google Nexus 4: Unlock Bootloader and Root on Android 5 Lollipop

If you are the owner of the Google Nexus 4, and recently updated your device with latest Android 5.0 lollipop update, and looking for a better way to root your Nexus 4. Here I have shared the easiest way to root your Nexus 4, by following these simple steps, you can easily root your device and grant super access to other applications on your Nexus 4 device.

In this post, you will know how to root your device using CF-Auto Root method, and the entire process will be completed in few minutes.

CF-Auto Root is a tool, which comes with automated scripts that uses fastboot commands and enhances the rooting process by speedup the process. Once the device is rooted, you can install custom recovery and also other rooted applications.

Before you proceed with the rooting process, make sure that your device has full battery level and take proper backup of your data. Remember that rooting device will void the warranty of your mobile, and we are not responsible for any bricked device.

Steps to root Nexus 4 on Android Lollipop:

  • Install Nexus USB driver in your Windows personal computer, and unlock bootloader on your phone.
  • Download Nexus 4 CF Root Zip file from the link and extract it on your personal computer
  • Now, reboot your device and enter into bootloader mode by pressing Volume Down button+Volume Up button and hold power button to enter your device into boot loader mode.
  • Now connect your device to the PC, and run root-windows.bat file from the CF Root extracted folder and follows the instructions given in following image.



Wait until the process gets completed, once the process is done, the device will be automatically rebooted. That’s all, now your device has successfully rooted, you can see the SuperSU app on your device, and from that, you can sure that your device has been rooted successfully.
