Samsung started to roll out of a software update for various phones, which will enable the Galaxy Gear smartwatch support to all those devices beyond Galaxy Note 3.
We already reported about the software update is on the way along with the Android Jelly Bean 4.3, now Samsung has announced officially starting from United States and the global roll out is coming soon.
Samsung released the Galaxy Gear smartwatch along with the Galaxy Note 3 in September and it was only supported that smartphone. Now the owners of Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2 will get the update starting from today. If your carrier is much interested on this update release, then you will get it as fast as possible but the roll-out will complete in few weeks. This Android software update brings all the features of Android 4.3 JB along with the added compatibility for Samsung’s popular KNOX business app.
Galaxy Gear will enable you to receive calls (hands-free), app notifications, music controls, regular watch tools, take photos and shoot videos. However, the Samsung Galaxy Mega and Galaxy S4 Mini owners have to wait for 1-2 months as the company not revealed the exact release date of the update but said coming soon. We heard that Galaxy Gear return rate is much concerned to the company as more Galaxy Gear buyers returned the smartwatch already.
