After few weeks of Samsung’s Galaxy Round curved phone launch, LG has officially released their competitor a massive 6-inch G Flex smartphone in Korea.
Looks same as the recent leaked photos, LG G Flex will be available in 3 major Korean carriers from next month and the 2 curved smartphones will go head to head in homeland of both Samsung and LG.
The major feature of the 6-inches device is obviously its curved design but the device boasts only 720p OLED display, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Round boasts a 1080p display. But unlike the Galaxy Round’s vertical curve, G Flex’s horizontal curve will provide great viewing of videos and games in landscape mode, like the curved screen of a digital cinema theater. Apart from this feature, the device’s display also has the ability to self heal, when it gets a minor scratches on its display – similar to X-Men’s Wolverine, compares LG.
Regarding the specifications part, LG G Flex is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 2.26GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 330 GPU as well as 2GB of RAM and runs LG’s customized UI over the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. It comes with 32GB internal storage space along with the expandable microSD card slot. It comes with the best-in-class rear camera with 13-megapixel sensor and the connectivity part is complete with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, LTE-A, LTE, HSPA+, GSM, USB 3.0 and NFC.
The dimensions of LG G Flex are 160.5 x 81.6 x 7.9/8.7mm with the weight of 177 grams. However, the total thickness of the smartphone depends on the angle of the curve and looking at the photos will tell you that the slight curve will not affect the portability – it will fit into your pocket easily. The smartphone comes with a whopping 3500mAh curved battery for good battery backup.
