Systena, a Japanese IT firm has revealed an Android tablet with Tizen OS in Japan for developers inside the Tizen Build kit.
Tizen Buil kit from Systena is a package that contains developer tools, technical details & consulting services from the company, manuals as well as a fully working 10.1-inch tablet for developers.
Regarding the specifications, the Systena tablet boasts 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex A9 quad core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The device will be having a 32GB internal storage space, an expandable microSD slot, 2MP front camera as well as 3MP rear camera. The tablet also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity. The display used in the 10.1-inc screen is a WUXGA with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolutions. The operating system version included in the tablet is Tizen 2.1.
This is the major step for Linux-based Tizen OS after it announced by replacing the MeeGo OS in 2011 by Linux Foundation. MeeGo was formally known as Intel’s operating system. Intel and Samsung was the leading firms in the development of the open source platform, in collaboration with the LiMo Foundation. Recently, Android apps have been running on the platform by using the third party software. Systena also assured that it will help the developers to port Tizen OS into an iOS or Android devices.
