According to the reports in hand, BMW is presently working on an advanced and more powerful version of its i8 plug-in hybrid supercar. Well, the name i8 plug-in hybrid supercar itself packs a punch, and just imagine what the upgraded version will turn into after BMW has finished working on all the modifications that it plans.
The reports suggest that the upgraded version of the i8 plug-in hybrid supercar will receive an extra surge of power from the battery turning the car into a further developed beast.
The rumors were on a high as many reports stated that BMW has been planning to bring about the modifications for quite some time now. Some stories, even claim that the upgraded version of i8 plug-in hybrid supercar will have the double power that its successor. Now, if we are talking 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds approximately, then the rumors seem to take the shape of reality.
Although, the report about 0 to 100 km/h comes from sources from within the company, there have been innumerable wild speculations about the system that will provide the i8 plug-in hybrid supercar with the power for the sprint. A viable speculation states the use of a 170 kW, 1.5 liter three cylinder petrol engine. On the other hand, the speculation has been put aside by the board member for development at BMW, Mr. Klaus Frohlich, stating that it would be nearly impossible to fit in four large cylinders inside the i8 plug-in hybrid supercar.
Well, then again impossible have happened in the past. It would be interesting to see how things span out in the future with i8 plug-in hybrid supercar and till then we will have to wait out patiently.
