One of the favorites of the Android World, the feature-rich Moto X had some issues with camera quality. Lack of color and sharpness made the photos look dull. AT&T users received an over-the-air update which fixed the issue.
In a series of comprehensive tests by Wired, photos were clicked with their magazine in several backgrounds and different lighting scenarios. After the Moto X update the pictures had more sharpness and color detail. As seen in the picture the grills were more detailed post update. The picture was clicked at an f/2.4 The picture on pre-update was captured at an ISO of 200 and the the post-update one at an ISO of 160. The reason for the grainy image in the left photo was the higher ISO, and there was noticeable difference between the two.
Users of the AT&T Moto X will notice a definite increase in the quality of photos after the update. Pictures would be a lot less grainy with dense black and sharper colors. (Sprint and T-Mobile users got their update during the end of last month).
