Following the availability of the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop for Motorola Moto X (2nd Gen) Developer Edition smartphones, now it looks like few Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) devices also began to receive the latest firmware update. No official announcement has been released yet by the company, nor any carriers.
If the company begins the global roll out of new firmware to its Moto X and Moto G devices, then Motorola would be the first smartphone maker to roll out the latest Android L for its devices, before Google Play Edition smartphones as well as Google Nexus series. Point to note is, Google Nexus 6 is made by Motorola, which is now the property of Lenovo.
According to the reports, the US unlocked version of Moto G (2nd Generation) devices getting the Android Lollipop update in a 386.7MB package. If you have the first Generation Moto G or Moto X smartphones, it would be better to wait for a few weeks to get the latest firmware on your phone.
