Microsoft is gearing up for the next change to the Windows 8 series. Before launching Windows 9 Threshold, Microsoft is all set to release its next update for the latest version of Windows. The update is expected to be released for all users to download on August 12 this year. As per reports, Microsoft has termed this second update to Windows 8.1 as Windows 8.1 Update 2.
Windows 8.1 is the latest version of the operating system that is available in the market. The users who use 8.1 and had installed the previous update from Microsoft will be able to implement the second update.
The experts are expecting the release of the update to be a very simple affair. According to the experts, Microsoft will not make any fuss about the release of Update 2. In turn, they are of the belief that Microsoft is more busy and interested in preparing the next version of Windows in the series. According to the rumors, the next version might well be named as Windows Threshold or Windows 9.
Speaking of the update which will be available for the users from August 12 onwards may not have the conventional start menu. The users who have used both Windows 8 and 8.1 must be aware of the issues that the absence of Start menu had created. In fact the launch of 8.1 was done only to solve the problems that Windows 8 had and the absence of the start button was one of them. It will be interesting to see how the users react, if the second update again leads to a vanished start button.
With XP gone, it seems that Microsoft is putting extra efforts to make Windows better. Stay tuned for more updates.
