Samsung Electronics is probably at a two-way fight. According to the experts, the level of competition that Samsung smartphones are facing at the present time can very well be termed as a serious patch in the market. According to the reports, Samsung’s high-end smartphones like Galaxy S5, etc are facing a stiff competition from devices like iPhone 5s, Sony Xperia Z2, etc. On the other hand, this smartphone giant is also facing a similar situation with low-end smartphones. The competition in this zone is being provided by the innumerable low-end smartphones from China.
Standing in such a tense situation, the trouble only increases for Samsung as Apple has already made its intentions clear for the launch of iPhone 6 with upgrade hardware and software.
According to the statistics that we have on hand, it is quite clear that iPhone 5s has had a clear edge over Galaxy S5 by a margin of about 20 million more devices sold to Apple. What makes things more interesting that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has done more business for the company than the flagship model of Galaxy S5.
Samsung has not made any official statements in regards to the issues or slow sales. In turn, the company has indicated that they are gearing up as well to induce their upcoming models with higher and more efficient technology. On the other hand, the experts believe that Samsung needs to cut down the prices immediately in order to counter the situation.
Samsung is expected to launch the premium metallic version of Galaxy S5 named as Samsung Galaxy Alpha soon. The Galaxy Alpha is rumored to feature a 4.7-inch AMOLED display, Samsung Exynos Octa 5 chipset and will be powered by the new Snapdragon 805 processor introduced in the Galaxy S5LTE-A. The device will be called as a “card phone” and has 6mm thickness equal to a stack of five credit cards. The full-metal device is also expected to be compatible with LTE-A network.
