Sprint launches HD Voice; adds 4G LTE to 28 markets


The United States fourth largest carrier Sprint has announced nationwide availability of HD Voice service, adds 4G LTE to 28 new markets and three new Sprint spark markets.sprint-logo

The HD Voice service is set to benefit 16 million customers who own devices which support the feature. Sprint’s HD Voice service is supported on 28 postpaid and 33 prepaid smartphones. The feature will utilize noise cancellation technology to provide a clear natural sounding voice. Sprint will launch International Wi-Fi calling in a few weeks for making calls and sending texts through Wi-Fi.

Sprint is also offering 30-day trail of its services with money back guarantee which will cover the cost of the device and activation charges. The new trail offer will compete with T-Mobile’s 7-day trail of its services. The new money-back guarantee will be available to consumers from June 27 and will apply to existing customers who need an additional line.

“We believe customers will be delighted with the Sprint retail experience, our customer service, and the performance of America’s newest network,” said Dan Hesse, Sprint CEO.

Sprint has also added 4G LTE service to 28 new markets including Cleveland, Seattle and San Jose bringing the total number of cities to 471 using the 4G service. Currently Sprint has 225 million 4G LTE users and expects to cover 250 million people by mid-year.

Sprint Spark has been added in Greensboro, St.Louis and Winston-Salem which will provide advanced wireless speeds of 15Mbps to 60Mbps on compatible devices. Sprint is also in the process of testing 8T8R radios for increasing coverage and signal strength at 2.5GHz and is expected to be launched this summer.
