Ubisoft, which recently released the Watch Dogs game for latest gaming consoles, has now officially confirmed the new franchise for its Far Cry series Far Cry 4 during the earnings report for the year ended March 31.
Last year, Ubisoft said that it would consider developing the next version of the popular action game. Now, the company has announced that the game will be released to PC, Microsoft Xbox One, Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PS3 on November 18 in US and two days later in EMEA territories.
Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO said in a statement:
The year’s performance will be led by five games–Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, Just Dance, The Crew, and Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs’ pre-orders are at record levels and it is perfectly positioned to become the industry’s most successful new IP in history.
Ubisoft has also teased about the story set up for the game. It goes like this:
In Far Cry 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.
The company has also announced some perks with the game for those customers who pre-order the game. Pre-ordering has begun already and you will receive a free upgrade to the Hurk’s Redemption Limited Edition game, which is a series of 3 single player missions and you have to play with the character Hurk from Far Cry 3. Ubisoft will also give you the main character’s “The Impaler” harpoon gun.
The company has also announced that it’s recently launched Watch Dogs is the most pre-ordered new IP in it’s history and the most pre-ordered new IP from any game developers in 2014. This game has also becomes the second- highest pre-ordered Ubisoft game ever.
