Google enables Drive presentation casting to Chromecast to all

The rumored Google Drive’s ability to cast presentation to your TV screen via Chromecast dongles has become the reality as Google quietly enabled the feature for everyone.

In last October, GigaOm reported that Google is testing the casting of presentations from Google Drive to Chromecast and the company never revealed anything related to such reports. But, only select group of users were able to cast their presentations to Chromecast. Now that the feature available to all, still, Google hasn’t officially announced the new feature.

You can only share the presentation to your Chromecast dongle, only if you have connected both your computer and Chromecast to the same WiFi. In order to cast your presentation file to your TV, just open the presentation in Google Drive and click on the dropdown button at the adjacent right side of “Present,” then select “Present on another device” where you will find your connected Chromecast device in the list. Make sure that you have enabled the Cast extension.

Meanwhile, the Google Drive’s mobile apps doesn’t support this feature, even the support for Android app is not announced yet. Have you used this new feature? Test it right now!
