As expected, Amazon has launched a separate department from “Wearable Technology” in its online store, which will be listing smartwatches, fitness devices, health-trackers, wearable cameras and surprisingly, wearables and trackers for pets and your babies too.
Unveiled on Tuesday, The Wearable Technology store is set up just like other departments focusing on core segments. Users can search for any available “smart” products as well as browse through the sub categories as mentioned above. Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch, Gear 2 Fit fitness tracker, Sony Smartwatch 2, Pebble, and Qualcomm Toq are some of the key products listed on its store. Even the wearable devices from lesser-known brands such as Polar heart rate monitor watch and Garmin Forerunner watch also available in the new dedicated store.
As usual, users can compare and research any gadgets by going through details, reviews and descriptions. Editor’s corner and an online Learning Center has been implemented inside the store segment.
The Narrative Clip and Nymi (miniature wearable camera) from Bionym (wearable authentication system) touted as coming soon in the store. Hence, all new products will get launched in Amazon Wearable Tech store soon.
John Nemeth, Director of Wireless and Mobile Electronics at Amazon said in the statement:
“Wearable technology is an exciting category with rapid innovation and our customers are increasingly coming to Amazon to shop and learn about these devices. We’re thrilled to bring our customers a store with the largest selection and great prices that helps eliminate the guesswork when deciding which wearable devices best fit their needs—whether that is tracking activity, staying connected through smart watches or capturing their next adventure with wearable cameras.”
