Verizon Wireless has silently launched Samsung Ativ SE Windows Phone handset, which was expected to be unveiled at Microsoft’s BUILD conference.
The same device was leaked on April 1st with a press photo and specifications, which suggests the launch was near. Verizon sells Samsung Ativ SE for $199 on a two-year agreement, while the contract-free handset is out there for $599.99 and the device will be shipping by April 12.
Verizon has an attractive offer, where you could have buy one and get one free on Samsung Ativ SE smartphone. the latter one could also exchanged to Samsung Galaxy S5 or HTC One 2014 (M8) too. You have to commit to a new 2 year contract to get a free device, without upfront cost.
Samsung Ativ SE comes with Windows Phone 8 (no WP 8.1), Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 5-inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display, 13-megapixel camera and 2,600mAh battery. Except the processor part, rest of the specs are very similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S4 Android phone.
Meanwhile, the big brother, Samsung Galaxy S5 will see a global shipping on April 11, just a day before the shipping date of Samsung Ativ SE.
