Shazam, the popular music identifying and purchase service, has updated its iOS app as part of the major mobile redesign with social sharing feature.
The updated Shazam iOS app comes with a refreshed user interface, social sharing, improved album and track reviews, discography and artists’ bio.
Major changes to the application includes the improved social sharing options that includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and WhatsApp. The music track page also offers the official video of that song, while the new engaging artist’s biographies and discographies helps the fans to learn more information of the particular artist/band.
New streaming options has been introduced, where Rdio users could add any track from Shazam to their Rdio playlists. Even the Deezer users in available countries could listen to Shazam’d songs from their Deezer application.
The company also introduced a revolutionary audio recognition technology, which not only improved the recognition rate, but also reduces the power consumption to less than 5 percent per hour (in Auto mode).
Although the iOS application for iPhone and iPad is live at iOS App Store, the Android variant isn’t updated with the new features yet. The new redesigned Shazam for Android will be rolled out “in a couple of weeks.”
