Last week, we have seen a leaked information about the Xiaomi Redmi (also known as Hongmi) at China’s TENAA certification database and now the company has confirmed the news and reveals some key specs of the device.
Xiaomi named the device as Redmi Note, but we don’t know whether this Chinese smartphone features a stylus or not. However, the company has revealed a midnight teaser, where we can see that the upcoming budget-friendly smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch display screen (the last week’s leaked specs shows 720p display) and an octa-core processor (1.7GHz or 1.4GHz).
There are no more details revealed in the teaser, such as camera, RAM, internal storage, battery etc. The price details also missing from the teaser, but we might expect a price tag of CN¥999, that means, around $160 when converted to USD.
China’s consumers can start pre-ordering the Xiaomi Redmi Note from march 19th onwards using the Qzone app. This social networking application has garnered the exclusive right to début the smartphone in China.
