Hewlett-Packard launches ARM-based HP 8 Android tablet for $170

Hewlett-Packard has quietly launched a low-cost 8-inch (accurately 7.85-inch) Android tablet, HP 8 and the ARM powered tablet is available for $170.hp-8-tabletHP 8 Android tablet’s look is somewhat like that of their last year’s Slate 7, but the company has used the faux-metal body of VoiceTabs in this tablet. HP showcased its range of VoiceTab phablets at Mobile World Congress event. However, the specs sheet of this 8-inch tablet is not comparable with HP’s other tablets as this device comes with a mere 1,024 x 768 resolution display screen and a Chinese-made Allwinner ARM processor.

Let’s check the specifications of HP 8 tablet. The budget-friendly HP 8 comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed and it runs on Allwinner Quad-Core ARM A31s processor along with 1GB of RAM. It also features 16GB of internal storage space, micros SD card slot to expand the storage, 3,800mAh battery, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, Wi-Fi and dual stereo speakers.

HP also has a special tablet case in blue color for HP 8 tablets, which is available for $30.
