Samsung unveiled Galaxy S5 with Fingerprint scanner, heart-rate sensor at MWC

Samsung has unveiled its premium flagship smartphone Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress 2014, which will be launched in 150 global markets in April 11.

Samsung Galaxy S5 features a familiar design, while the handset boasts some new features such as a heart rate sensor and a fingerprint scanner. The device comes with Android 4.4 KitKat with its new flatter toned-down TouchWiz UI on top of the OS.

It’s a 5.1-inch device, while the S4 has a 5-inch display and both the handsets features same 1080p Super AMOLED display screen. Swappable rear cover, expandable micro SD slot (supports up to 128GB), 2,800mAh battery, water/dust resistance body, polycarbonate body with small dimples aligned in lines, side panel with metallic finish (made from polycarbonate and glass fiber), 16MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR remote, Cat 4 LTE with up to 150Mbps downlink and a 16GB/32GB internal storage space option are the key features and specifications of the Samsung flagship.

However, Samsung will also launch its own 2.1GHz Exynos octa-core version of the Galaxy S5 smartphone soon. The company will roll-out the Exynos version in limited numbers as the Exynos version of Galaxy S4 hasn’t left the Korea till date.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with the vivid color options – Charcoal Black, Shimmer White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold. The price details hasn’t revealed by the company yet.
