Apple will cut iPhone 5c from its smartphone lineup, once it introduces two new iPhone 6 handsets in September 2014.
We know that Apple iPhone 5c hasn’t worked well for the company, compared to the iPhone 5s. Unsurprisingly, a report from South China Morning Post, suggests that the colorful iPhones will be discontinued as soon as the 2 new devices enter the market. The report claims to have spoken with the insiders, who also has the prototypes of the upcoming iPhone 6 handsets.
This is not a surprise, as Apple discontinued its iPhone 5, when launched the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. We knew that Apple won’t launch any iPhone 6c or any “c” handsets in future.
Apple tried very hard to market the colorful iPhone 5c handsets via huge billboards, TV ads, online advertising campaigns and homepage marketing. But, the cheaper iPhone hasn’t sold as expected by Apple. Apple also cut the iPhone 5c production to half, where iPhone 5s production was doubled. Even the high-end iPhone 5s sold i 3:1 ratio against the iPhone 5c.
As the rumors suggests, iPhone 6 will come with 2 models – 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch (426ppi pixel density). The Apple iPhone 6 is expected to come with the toughest scratch-resistant sapphire glass display, while the company could launch the new iPhones ahead of its usual September launch, mostly in the month of June 2014. With the bigger display screen, Apple will try to reach to the phablet lovers, who are using Samsung’s large-screen handsets such as Galaxy Note 3.
