Nokia leads Windows Phone market with 92 percent share in 2013

We know that Nokia has the largest number of Windows Phone smartphones than any other, but we didn’t knew that its Windows Phone share is more than 92%. The new report, with numbers, revealed by the WP app advertising platform AdDuplex shows some more details on the Nokia’s share in Windows Phone market.


The 2013 ended quite positively for Nokia, although the company has acquired by Microsoft in the same year. Nokia Lumia 520 is leading with its massive 39 percent share. However, only Nokia Lumia 920 makes into the top ten list for usage among other WP handsets. Lumia 620, 720 and 820 are the other key leading devices by Nokia.

Meanwhile, the penetration of Windows Phone 8 platform is 78 percent among other WP platforms, where the devices with WP 7.x version still has 22 percent market share.

In United States, T-Mobile’s Nokia Lumia 521 is leading with around 31 percent share, while the Lumia 520 gets the second place with 12 percent. The report also estimated that the company’s recent aggressive pricing for its entry level Windows Phones helped the devices to increase the overall market share in U.S. in last 2-3 months.

Surprisingly, the penetration of Nokia Lumia 920 is leading in Russia with impressive 24 percent share, while it has got only 9.7% share in United States.
