The South Korean automaker has started the year with great news. The company revealed its new Hyundai Veloster in Detroit. The second-generation Veloster is asymmetrical. Before unveiling this car, Hyundai has launched its Hydrogen-powered Nexo during the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show. The overall proportions of the new Veloster will not change too much.
However, the fact that it is asymmetrical is what makes it special. The car features two doors on the passenger side and only one door on the driver’s side. The new car’s front end falls in line with the recent design language of the automaker. Furthermore, it looks sharper compared to the first-generation Veloster.
The new Hyundai Veloster has an exquisite interior design
The rear window remained wide and short while the chiseled tail lamps are placed higher up. The designers who took care of the interior focused on user-friendly technology and connectivity. Owners can download a purpose-developed application to set the climate control, start the car remotely, locate it in a parking lot and lock or unlock the vehicle.
When the automaker launches the second-generation Veloster, the series will include three models called Veloster Turbo, Veloster N and Veloster. The base model is fueled by a 2,0-liter four-cylinder engine which functions on the Atkinson cycle. The car can generate 147 horsepower at 6,200 rpm. Furthermore, it can trigger 132 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. Drivers can choose between a six-speed automatic and a six-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai’s second-generation Veloster sports incredible specs, featuring an exquisite interior design that tries to surpass drivers’ expectations. The car has a unique exterior design, with its asymmetrical features. It has a powerful engine under its hood, and it also features a model-specific suspension system and bigger brakes.
