Ubisoft has announced the delay of The Crew 2 and Far Cry 5. Besides these two games, Ubisoft will also delay an “unannounced franchise game” which should have been released in the 2018-2019 fiscal year, but it will now launch in 2019-2020. Ubisoft postponed Far Cry 5 from February 27, 2018, to March 27. The company has also postponed The Crew 2 which was set to appear ON March 16, 2018. Now, they will prepare the game for the period between April and September.
Game developers argue that they have an ambitious vision for The Crew 2 and they really wish to surprise players. They intend to push the boundaries of the open-world racing genre, offering a high-quality gaming experience. The press and lots of fans have offered the company all their support, and the feedback is encouraging.
The delay of Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2
Hence, Ubisoft is grateful, and they feel like it is their duty not to disappoint gamers, providing them a better game. When it comes to Far Cry 5, this one did not get a detailed delay message. However, Ubisoft posted an update on the Ubiblog, saying that the team at Ubisoft Montreal needs the extra time to make some more improvements. They want to bring the most ambitious gaming experience when it comes to Far Cry, being in line with the original version of the game.
Christine Burgess-Quemard, the Ubisoft Worldwide Studios Executive Director, argued that they have decided to hold back the games due to the success of Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The team learned that if they take more time to develop a game, they will be more successful.
Even if some gamers might be disappointed when hearing the news about the delays, this might be a good idea. Ubisoft will do its best to develop quality games, to increase their number of fans and satisfy its audience. The team of game developers wants these games to be at least as successful as Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
