The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is about to be the most powerful and fastest Corvette model. It will hold 755 horsepower under its hood, having a top speed of more than 210mph. General Motors unveiled that drivers do not need to know how to handle a clutch pedal since the new supercar will feature an automatic transmission.
This will be the fourth ZR1 in the history of Corvette cars. The new version will feature a port- and direct-injected, 6.2-liter V8 engine. Its name is LT5. Regarding the displacement, the supercharger appears to be 52% larger compared to the used for Corvette Z06. The new version of Corvette will feature a carbon fiber hood. Furthermore, you can open it in the middle to clear the hardware.
The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 looks fierce
Peak torque reaches 4,400 rpm, being 800 rpm higher than the Z06. However, the peak horsepower is at 6,300 rpm, being 100 rpm lower compared to the 650-hp Corvette Z06. The new model weighs 10 pounds more compared to the Z06 version, being with 171 pounds heavier than the previous ZR1.
The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 features a standard 7-speed manual gearbox while it also has, as an option, an 8-speed automatic gear. If you choose the automatic one, your car will have a set of paddle shifters. However, they are attached to the steering wheel instead of the steering column. The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is bound to maximize performance and modify its form to satisfy function.
The new supercar features a re-shaped front end that has massive air intakes in order to fuel four radiators. Hence, the total number of heat exchangers is 13. Furthermore, two rear wing styles are available.
The exquisite Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has incredible features, really defining it as a supercar. The price of the car was not yet announced, but it will likely be a six-figure price, even before dealers add markup.
