GTA fans may be disappointed by the fact that the GTA 5 DLC expansion will not happen. Even if they might have had high hopes, Rockstar Games stated that it never promised to release a single-player expansion. When looking back at Grand Theft Auto IV, fans really enjoyed the add-ons known as The Lost And Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Nevertheless, the game developer Rockstar Games decided to focus on updates for GTA Online this time. It managed to bring substantial improvements to the online game. Imran Sarwar, the Rockstar design director, claims that it was not a specific decision not to launch the single-player version. It just happened to be this way.
There will be no GTA 5 DLC expansion
However, he also indicates that Rockstar would want to develop single-player expansions for other upcoming games. The game developer is one of those companies that loves designing single-player. Sarwar explains that GTA V did not get a single-player expansion because of their reduced resources. Furthermore, the company started focusing on their next game, namely Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar did not feel the need to launch a GTA 5 DLC expansion. However, the company does not exclude the possibility of transforming this into a future project. Rockstar considers bandwidth problems a real concern due to the fact that they want to do everything perfectly. They spend a lot of time and resources to make sure their games are just like they had planned.
Take-Two Interactive is the parent company of Rockstar. They did never release revenue figures related to GTA Online. However, the game also appears in earning reports, being a top driver of “recurrent consumer spending”.
Even if the GTA 5 DLC expansion is not going to be launched on the market, fans will still enjoy the amazing game. Rockstar game developer may issue single-player expansions for future games.
