With the long-awaited unveiling of the brand-new iPhone X from Apple, the company also revealed two other devices: the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. And while all the attention was on the “revolutionary” X, people should know that those other two models are also very good phones. As the star of the event, the X, those two devices also come with a bunch of new features, from wireless charging technology, to a new display and a back completely made out of glass. So, those who may not have $999 to spend on the X will be able to preorder the 8 or 8 Plus starting September 15. On Friday, September 22, they will also be officially available on shelves.
Getting to know the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
As Apple fans probably know, the Apple Store is usually the first option when it comes to ordering devices. However, the servers will probably crash right after the start of the preorder period. So, another good and even more reliable alternative is the Apple Store app, which is only for iOS. People have said that the app works extremely well and sometimes even faster than the actual store of the company.
As for the price for 8 and 8 Plus, customers should know that the iPhone 8 starts at $699 for the 64Gb version, and at $849 for the 256GB version. Meanwhile, the 8 Plus will be a little more expensive, starting at $799 for the 64GB and at $949 for the 256GB. It’s also important to note, for those who care about such things, that both phones will come in space gray, gold and silver.
Your phone carrier counts
It’s also important for people to know that their mobile carrier also counts in making the transition towards the new iPhones. For example, if you are an AT&T customer or a future one, you will be able to preorder the 8 and 8 Plus on their website too. Each carrier has its own plans which they detail on their official websites. So, it’s better to get informed before doing anything. Verizon is another carrier which will make preorders available on September 15. Sprint and T-Mobile too so, the choices are pretty numerous. It all depends on your preference. All in all, people should know that those two models, while not the stars of this year’s wave of smartphones, are very good alternatives.
