Recently, leaked concept art from the next installment of the Tomb Raider franchise revealed some interesting new information. The conceptual images seem to show Egyptian pyramids and the official name of the upcoming game. At this year’s E3, publisher Square Enix didn’t reveal anything about the new “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” game. The only game they presented was “Life is Strange: Before the Storm”, the prequel to the original story. However, with E3 already finished, it seems like leaks have begun appearing on the internet, spilling the secrets of Lara Croft’s next adventure.
“Shadow of the Tomb Raider”
Rumors about the next installment of the Tomb Raider franchise began circulating around last year. Back then, a fan managed to see what a marketing person was doing on their laptop. It was the new “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” game. Everyone immediately started talking about the next installment, with many fans saying that the leak was probably fake. However, recently, some concept images of the game appeared online, on the website of creative agency TakeOff. They are a company which creates trailers, websites and many other promotional elements for video game companies, including Square Enix. They have managed to take the images down, but fortunately, fans at NeoGAF quickly saved them.
It’s interesting that the concept images are similar to what that person spied on the subway. Moreover, they use the exact same name for the game. Some of the concept art shows a possible pyramid through which Lara is roaming. However, because the art is not very detailed, it’s difficult to say whether the pyramid is Egyptian, South American or from other part of the world. Maybe the most important art images show Lara in a costume that doesn’t really fit Egyptian weather. She wears long pants and is covered enough for fans to believe that she is in a rather cold environment.
Lara Croft’s next adventure
Also, fans are not sure if the building on the left of the most important image is indeed real or the creators have made is especially for the game. Rumor also has it that Eidos Montréal is developing “Shadow of the Tomb Raider”, and not Crystal Dynamics. Fans will have to wait and see if the art is indeed real or if Lara’s new adventure will be a completely different one.
