It seems like “Assassin’s Creed Origins” will be the next game in the very popular Ubisoft franchise. The game will be set in ancient Egypt and will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 27th. It appears like it has been in development for some years and on June 11, it has finally been confirmed at Microsoft’s press briefing. According to what Ubisoft showed at the conference, the player will take on the role of Bayek, an Egyptian sheriff who, as usually, is also a ruthless assassin.

A step towards ancient Egypt

From the details they revealed at the conference, the game will be much more detailed. It will also transport the player deep within the beauty and feeling of ancient Egypt. The players will get to know Bayek as he goes through the struggles of protecting his land from some dangerous forces which were “corrupting” Egypt. His efforts finally come to fruition when he manages to form the well-known Assassin Brotherhood, the same one that is featured in the entire series. In “Origins”, the players will get to know the cities of Alexandria and Memphis.

It’s interesting to note that after “Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag” was completed, Ubisoft Montreal began working on this game, about four years ago. According to a press release, “Assassin’s Creed Origins” is a “brand new vision” for the very popular series. For the first time, the game will include RPG elements like leveling up, looting, and even customization. During the event, the developer also showed some gameplay clips. Most of them show Bayek sneaking around enemies and using his bow and arrow to defeat them. It also showed a new addition called hawk detection. This will show an aerial view of the surroundings, helping the player a lot. Because the game will not have towers anymore, this hawk detection will come in handy.

The origins of the Brotherhood

As for the combat, it has evolved and it now looks more like “The Witcher 3” and “Dark Souls”. Ubisoft has said that they made the combat more fluid and provided the main character with a lot more mobility. And from the gameplay trailer, it indeed looks like it. All in all, it’s good to finally have an official word on this game. Many fans have been waiting for news. Now, it seems they got them.
