Apple just announced updates for their tvOS, macOS, watchOS and iOS at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, California. Now, everybody is eagerly expecting to see what novelties will those new updates bring. This will be especially relevant considering the fact that last year’s iOS 10 update included improvements to the Lock Screen and its stock apps. However, it seems like this year Apple is focusing on the productivity for the iPad with this new iOS 11.
iOS 11’s improvements
It’s worth noting that those developers who want to take a look will be able to download a preview for the new iOS 11 here. Later this month, iOS users will also be able to download a public beta version here. In the fall, the public release for the iOS 11 will become available for the iPhone 5s and later, for all the iPad Airs, iPad Pros, the iPad 5th generation. The update will also become available for the iPad mini 2 and later and the iPod touch 6th generation.
As for what novelties will it bring, the iOS 11 will introduce a redesigned App Drawer for the Messages app. This feature will make it easier for users to share content through the Messages app. Also, the latter will now sync across multiple Apple devices. So, from now on, if someone deletes a certain message from the iPhone, that message will also disappear from the iPad, Mac or any other device.
Useful new features
However, maybe one of the most interesting additions will be the Apple Pay service. From now on, users will be able to transfer money to friends and family through Apple Pay. Users will need to open the Messages app and send money from their cards via their Apple Wallets. This service also works through Siri so users can ask her to pay someone or transfer money.
When it comes to Siri, from now on, she will display multiple results when the user searches for a certain thing. Also, she now has real-time translations. Initially, Siri will support real-time translation for Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish. In time, the company will add more and more languages. Moreover, Siri will have new female and male voices which will supposedly sound “more natural”.
