A new trailer might have leaked some rather important details about Overwatch’s Insurrection event. The event will reportedly also include a series of new skins for players to try and many other cosmetics to collect. This trailer, which PlayStation France posted on YouTube and since then deleted, reveals what looks like a brand new cooperative mode which might be horde-style.
The trailer also shows that this new mode might be set on King’s Row map, but on a daytime version. As the trailer is saying, players will be able to relive “one of the key moments” in Overwatch’s history. The fans of the game will probably have to fight entire armies of Omnic enemies. Those include some bizarre two-legged beasts which appear to be mechanical. Also, some very powerful robots equipped with shields.
By the looks of it, players will be able to play as one of Overwatch’s main four team members: Tracer, Reinhardt, Mercy and Torbjörn. It is interesting to note that during a previous limited time event called Halloween Terror, players needed to fight wave after wave of Omnic foes in what was called Junkenstein’s Revenge. That time, they were also only able to play as one of four characters: Ana, McCree, Hanzo and Soldier: 76.
The Insurrection update
Apart from the new gameplay mode, this Insurrection update for Overwatch will also introduce lots of new skins. They will eb available for McCree, Genji, Widowmaker, Mercy, Torbjorn, Bastion and Orisa. So, players will be able to switch between them and thus make their experience in-game more engaging and fun. Also, the developers know how much some players love the cosmetic aspects of the game, so they listened to their wishes.
Moreover, Blizzard said that with this event, they will make available over one hundred new items which will be unlockable. Those will reportedly include, apart from skins, poses, sprays and even emotes. Also, according to the same leaked trailer, the Insurrection event will run from April 11 until May 1st. Still, Blizzard has another surprise. Just last week, they teased the Overwatch Mission Archives. During it, players will be able to play King’s Row Uprising again, in case they missed it. The company also released a digital comic which offers a look at the Omnic Uprising, so players will know what to expect.
