The specifications for Samsung’s upcoming smartphone, the Galaxy S8+ have apparently been confirmed by a person on Twitter. Evan Blass is known as the greatest leaker of information in existence. He is often right too. His post comes a few days before the MWC event during which Samsung is expected to show the new device to a select audience. His post contains almost every detail of the new handset apart from the system the smartphone will come with. It is still unclear whether or not it will have the Android 7.0 Nougat or the older Android Marshmallow.

The new Samsung Galaxy S8+ will come with a 6.2 or 6.1-inch display, with rectangle or rounded corners. This is in accordance with an older rumor which stated that the new phone might indeed sport a 6.2-inch display. Both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will come with what is believed to be the best USP of all the upcoming devices: the Snapdragon 835 SoC. As for the memory of the new device, many fans were very disappointed. According to the leaks, the phone will have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Users will be able to increase it using a MicroSD card, as usual. However, fans were expecting the new phone to come with 6GB of RAM.
The camera of the phone will have 12MP, while the front facing one will have 8MP. This information is pretty basic and nothing new in terms of innovation. There are already many smartphones which sport the same camera. A confirmed speculation might be the famous iris-scanner.
The Galaxy S8+
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8+ will probably be resistant to dust. This means that it will be protected from dust entering all its orifices. It will also be water resistant. So, the users will be able to submerge the phone in up to 1.5 meters of water for a period of 30 minutes and it would still be completely fine. However, it is still unclear why would someone do that on purpose, apart from the situations when you really need to go underwater with your phone, which are not very common.
A very interesting rumor is that according to which, the Galaxy S8+ will sport wireless charging. However, it seems like Samsung is not going to ship the charging pads with the smartphone. So, those users who would want to try the wireless charging would have to buy those separately. This is not a very good thing because it makes everyone feel like Samsung does not really want you to charge your phone wirelessly. Or that they do not consider it necessary. The upcoming iPhone will supposedly also come with wireless charging technology. So, the companies are going to go head to head once again in this regard.
As for the price, the Galaxy S8+ might have a price of $1,050. Samsung will most probably release the new smartphones on March 29. You may find them on shelves in the United States stores in April, most probably.
