If you are a fan of the long-awaited Dishonored sequel then you know that it comes out tomorrow. And you also know that reviews will not be up so soon because of Bethesda’s decision to not send review copies of the game in advance. It is a shame, we know, but what can you do? This is a decision which will affect all of their games which will be released from now on.
A shooter heavy month
First-person shooters have dominated this month until now. From Titanfall 2 to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It has all been about shooting enemies with highly advanced weapons. Preferably in space. But now it seems like the time has come to change the register. Dishonored 2 is another type of game. The stealth-action-adventure game from Bethesda lets you choose as who do you want to play: Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano. But even if you are a fan of the game, you should do some research before playing it. Times have changed. Corvo’s appearance has also changed. Everything has changed since we last saw him terrorizing Dunwall.
A first day patch
Now, Dishonored 2, coming from Arkane Studios, will require you to make room for it on your Playstation 4 or Xbox One. Almost 9 GB of it. Why? Because the game comes with a first day patch prepared, which you will need to install before playing the game. This way, the patch will be able to fix bugs, shadow quality and will temper with the audio mixing, frame rate and texture streaming.
Reportedly, players who will buy the game digitally will need to have at least 48 Gb free space. For those who will not buy it digitally, the patch will be only worth 9 GB.
A star-studded voice cast
Dishonored 2 uses the voices of some very big stars. One of them is famous Hollywood actress Rosario Dawson. She plays Captain Meaghan Foster, your ally. Rosario has been playing the Night Nurse in Netflix’s Marvel TV show and she is known for playing Gail in the movie Sin City. So the experience is there and we expect her to do a great job in Dishonored 2 also. More details about her character are still undisclosed, apart from being a friendly face from the get go.
Sam Rockwell will be playing Mortimer Ramsey, who is part of the Dunwall’s City Watch. And this is it for now. No details on his character whatsoever, so we think he might be having a big role in the upcoming game. This will be his first big video game acting job but Sam has a history of playing crazy characters that you end up liking. He was “Wild Bill” in the Green Mile. Also, he played some bad people in Iron Man 2 and in 7 Psychopaths.
Finally, the last big name is Vincent D’Onofrio, who will play Duke Luca Abele in Dishonored 2. The actor is very known for his amazing portrayal of Kingpin in the TV series Daredevil. So the stakes are very high here. And hiring such big names to voice video game characters can only mean that the studio aims for greatness. Let’s hope they will achieve it.
