Apple has scored a big percentage of total sales occurred during Black Friday 2013, especially the iPads saw a strong start in this year’s holiday shopping season.
Apple products scored 22% sales of Target’s sales on Black Friday 2013, according to the real time analytics firm InfoScout, which claims that it determined the top sellers at Walmart and Target with the help of more than 100,000 shopping ticket receipts.
After analyzing more than 3,000 shopping receipt of Target, it determined that 16GB iPad Air, 16GB iPad mini and 32GB iPad Air were in top sellers respectively with the price tag of $479, $299 and $599. These devices were accounted for total of 18.1% of total sales and if you add other Apple products to it, the total goes to 22% of the total Target’s Black Friday sales.
InfoScout also analyzed more than 5,000 shopping receipts of Walmart (both online and retail stores) and said that $299.91 16GB iPad mini was the top seller and the next tablet in list was $48.86 RCA Android tablet, which was in 7th position. HP laptop and Microsoft Xbox One was in 3rd and 5th place – rest of the places in top 10 were occupied by various TVs.
Surprisingly, Best Buy’s top seller was Microsoft Surface 32GB tablet (it might be the latest Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2) and 16GB iPad 2 was in 2nd place.
Most interesting part of the findings is, approximately 40 percent of iPads bought online by Android smartphone users. That’s interesting – isn’t it?
