This morning, at a late-night press conference, the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC revealed a pair of new, similarly named phones. They are an addition to their midrange phones. We are talking about the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle and Pro. Agreed, it has a very business-like name but, surprisingly, it is actually a device made especially for users who like to take selfies and listen to music. They are reportedly a big step from the original Desire phones, while also maintaining the phone’s traits which made it so loved by customers.
From some photos, HTC seems to have done a very nice job. The design is beautiful, elegant, without resembling Apple in any way, which is a good thing. The company says that their new design was heavily inspired by Art Deco. Some pronounced details and a nice curvature seem to complete the phone’s pretty look. It is fresh and youthful, somewhat giving away a Great Gatsby vibe (especially the black and golden version).
As the name suggests, the HTC Pro seems to be the higher end phone. It has a 1080p and a 5.5-inch display. It has up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. This is a huge improvement, considering that the other new version (the Lifestyle) has just 3GB of RAM and 32GB. Of course, you can add how much memory you want because the phones have on-board microSD slots. The HTC Pro’s battery is also improved from its predecessor. The new one comes with a 3,000mAh battery compared to just 2700mAh of the Lifestyle version.
The most interesting thing is maybe the fact that this device is heavily oriented towards quality selfies. It even features a rear-facing 20-megapixel sensor. It also has some nice features like manual settings, image stabilization and HDR. Your selfies are about to go to the next level! The phone has a new Panorama feature which allows you to take 150-degree shots of… yourself! Interesting right? Also, the rear fingerprint reader (which only this HTC Pro version possesses) doubles the selfie button. It also comes with a bigger and better camera than its partner (20-megapixels vs just 13).
Lifestyle chooses the music
When talking about the Lifestyle version, we can agree that music is the primary objective here. This device has BoomSound HiFi Edition speakers. The manufacturers even called them “legendary” for whatever reason. We agree that they are pretty good for some phone speakers. But I wouldn’t call them legendary!
This version, HTC Lifestyle will hit shelves at the end of the month. The other one, HTC Pro, will come out in November. Both phones will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow system. The creators also said that the phones will have an internet use on WiFi of up to 7 hours (on Lifestyle) and 8 hours (on Pro). As for the prices, HTC has announced that Lifestyle will be around €300. The price for Pro has not been announced but, normally, we expect it to be a little bit more expensive than Lifestyle.
