LG G2 android phones to get the KitKat update in Q1 2014 in Canada – mostly in US too

LG G2 smartphones to get the latest Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update in Q1 2014, at least in Canada as per the Canadian LG representative to Mobile Syrup.

Being the flagship for LG, G2 has added somewhat value to the Korean electronics maker, which might be stolen by its latest release 6-inch G Flex curved handset. According to the report by the mobile-focused blog, a representative of LG Canada, Court Elliot said that the software update rollout to all carriers in Canada will begin in same day. This also suggests that the Android KitKat for the LG G2 smartphones in U.S. might also get the update in same period – around March.

Most probably, LG G2 will be skipping Android 4.3  as it comes with Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) pre-loaded and still runs on the same OS. They had to bring the KitKat update as soon as possible because, they know how important it is – after all, it spent its highest budget to market this product while selling.

If the company brings the latest firmware to G2 smartphones, then it would be second LG phone to get the update – LG made the Google Nexus 5, which is the first phone to come with Android KitKat pre-loaded.
